Resiste, nella classifica settimanale di Media Create relativa ai videogiochi più venduti in Giappone, Monster Hunter World: nel periodo dal 19 al 25 febbraio il titolo Capcom è ancora davanti a tutti, anche se il divario si assottiglia. In seconda posizione, ad inseguirlo, troviamo Girls und Panzer, mentre Metal Gear Survive deve accontentarsi della terza posizione. Lo spin-off della serie Konami ha piazzato 31.359: ricordando che le classifiche Media Create tengono conto delle sole vendite retail, riportiamo che a suo tempo Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, altro spin-off della saga, mise insieme 308.681 copie nella prima settimana. Per chi ama confrontare i numeri, segnaliamo anche che Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, gioco “genitore” di Survive, nella prima settimana registrò 293.652 copie su PS4 e 117.547 su PS4, Ground Zeroes registrò invece 119.651 copie su PS4 e 91.821 su PS4. Il più lontano Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots nel 2008 arrivò a 465.000 copie—a riprova della longevità della forza commerciale della proprietà intellettuale nel suo Paese natale.
